Protecting Opening Day When Every Day Counted

The third KITH location entrusted to Precise Contractor — and one of the most complex. Global delays, intricate finishes, and an immovable opening date required decisive leadership, relentless planning, and the commitment to be where it mattered most.

The Challenge

Permit delays, stone and flooring shipments impacted by the Middle East crisis, custom wood veneer rejects, and a full container of architectural stone arriving just five days before turnover. The opening date could not move — marketing dollars, partners, press, and a café all depended on it.

Our Approach

We relied on critical-path planning, constant communication, and strategic sequencing. We supplemented labor, worked around the clock, and phased merchandising to protect photography and the press timeline.

Protecting Opening Day

We aligned every trade, inspection, and delivery around the non-negotiable opening. Ronnie's Pronto, the in-store café, was approved, stocked, and trained on schedule — ensuring the full experience was ready from day one.

The Result

The store opened on time and delivered the brand experience KITH is known for. The client executed on every commitment, from press to partners to the guest experience.

The Precise Way in Action

We Protect Opening Day.

Opening day isn't protected during the final week of construction. It's protected by thousands of decisions made during every week before it.

“When delayed stone shipments and long-lead flooring threatened the schedule, the solution wasn't working harder — it was rethinking sequencing, supplementing labor, and making disciplined decisions that protected the client's launch.”

Leadership Reflection

This project reinforced something I've believed for years: opening day is only protected by every decision that comes before it. When circumstances change, leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about being present, making thoughtful decisions, and giving your team the support they need to succeed.
